Hair Care
Good hair stays good when the routine is simple and consistent. This is the routine.
1Wash day
- Detangle from the ends up with your fingers or a wide tooth comb before any water touches the hair.
- Use lukewarm water and a sulfate free shampoo. Smooth it down the lengths instead of piling and scrubbing.
- Condition every wash and let it sit a few minutes. Deep condition every few weeks if you wear the hair daily.
2Drying
- Squeeze water out gently with a towel. Do not wring or rub.
- Air dry when you can. If you blow dry, keep it on low with a heat protectant.
- Make sure wefts and lace are fully dry before you style or store the hair.
3Night routine
- Wrap straight styles, and braid or pineapple waves and curls before bed.
- Sleep on silk or satin, either a bonnet or a pillowcase. Cotton drinks the moisture and roughs up the cuticle.
4Heat and color
- Always use a heat protectant and keep tools at moderate settings.
- The hair can be colored, but color work is chemistry. A professional colorist will keep the hair healthy, especially going light.
5Lace care
- Handle lace like the delicate it is. Avoid tugging at the hairline.
- Keep adhesives and removers gentle, and follow your stylist's guidance on installs and removals.
- Store units on a stand or in silk, away from heat and sun.
6Curly texture extras
- Curls want moisture. A light leave in or curl refresher keeps the pattern defined between washes.
- Scrunch products in, do not rake them through, and let curls dry untouched for the best definition.
